Partial, the original Canadian online art marketplace marks a decade of supporting artists, connecting collectors and making Canadian art more accessible

TORONTO, ON October 28, 2026 — Partial Gallery, the original independent Canadian online marketplace dedicated exclusively to Canadian artists, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a renewed commitment to the artists and creative communities that have defined its journey.

Founded by Tammy Yiu Coyne and Chris Kim in 2016, Partial was created with a simple but ambitious idea: to make it easier for people to discover, appreciate and collect original art by Canadian artists while providing artists with a meaningful platform to reach new audiences.

Ten years later, that vision has grown into a national community showcasing over 1,750 artists from across Canada and a collection of more than 22,000 works of art.

“From the beginning, we wanted Partial to be about much more than selling art,” said Tammy Yiu, Co-Founder of Partial.

“We wanted to create a place where Canadian artists and artists working in Canada could be discovered and supported, and where anyone could find something that spoke to them. Ten years later, we’re incredibly proud of the community that has grown around that idea.”

For Chris Kim, Co-Founder, the relationship with artists has always been at the heart of Partial.

“Canadian artists have extraordinary stories to tell, and we’ve always believed they deserve to be seen and celebrated,” said Chris. “Our commitment has been to build genuine relationships with artists and create opportunities for their work to reach people who might not otherwise have the chance to discover it. That remains at the heart of what we do.”

Over the past decade, Partial has helped introduce Canadian artists to collectors across the country and beyond, creating a more accessible pathway into the world of original art.

The platform’s community spans established and emerging artists working across painting, photography, sculpture, drawing, mixed media and other contemporary practices. Together, it represents the diversity of Canada’s artistic landscape—from coast to coast to coast.

Partial’s 10th anniversary is an opportunity not only to celebrate the platform’s growth, but to recognize the artists, collectors and supporters who have made that growth possible. But the numbers tell only part of the story.

At its core, Partial’s mission has always been about supporting the people who make Canadian culture possible.

As Partial enters its second decade, the company is expanding its focus on discovery and community by helping more Canadians connect with contemporary art and creating new opportunities for artists to build audiences and careers.

The anniversary will be marked throughout the year with artist features, curated collections, conversations and special programming celebrating Canadian creativity and the people who collect it.

“Canada has an extraordinary community of artists, and we believe Canadian art should be part of everyday life—not something that feels distant or inaccessible,” said Maggie Fairs, Partner at Partial. “Our next chapter is about continuing to make that possible while bringing even more attention to the artists who make Canada’s cultural landscape so vibrant and relevant.”

Partial’s 10th anniversary campaign will celebrate the artists, collectors and communities that have shaped the past decade and look ahead to the next generation of Canadian creativity.

The anniversary celebrations begin with the launch of a microsite featuring artists, collectors and other members of the Partial community. This will be followed by a full calendar of special events and activities over the course of the year to both celebrate and support Canada’s creative economy. News will be shared on Partial.gallery as well as through a new weekly newsletter.
