By: Isabella Nicastro, Curation and Artist Liaison at Partial
As June comes to a close, Partial is thrilled to commemorate the creativity, resilience, and contributions of queer, 2SLGBTQIA+ communities from coast to coast. Art has long been a powerful medium for self-expression, identity, and connection. We invite you to explore works that honour authenticity, challenge conventions, and reflect the vibrant spectrum of human experience today, and all year-round.

As part of our celebration of Pride Month, we’re also spotlighting the work of PRO Artist Olivier Salvas! Salvas is an artist, curator, educator, and arts advocate whose practice intersects arts education, contemporary culture, and social justice. Currently based in Vancouver, Olivier’s artistic oeuvre spans abstract painting, photography, and mixed media, thoughtfully addressing social causes and igniting dialogue around identity. His 2021 series Flamboyant features a vibrant array of abstract paintings celebrating self-acceptance and positivity.

“When we started Partial back in 2016, the idea was borne out of something simple: how could I help get more art onto more walls? All these years later, it still brings our small team a lot of joy every time we see an artist sell a piece, an art rental come through, or a rental turn into a sale. I hope you may find inspiration here for your own space this month!”
