About Regina: From Busgirl to Retail Visionary
Regina Sheung is the woman behind two of Toronto’s most beloved shops, Propaganda and Labour of Love. With a passion for design, curation, and visual merchandising, her insights have been featured in CBC, the Toronto Star, She Does The City, and Young Women In Business. A reluctant style icon, she was also nominated for The Globe and Mail’s Canada’s Best Dressed in 2019.
Regina’s journey into retail began in the late 1970’s Hong Kong as a busgirl at her grandparents’ restaurant. She then honed her customer service skills during summer jobs on the Hong Kong high street for iconic brands like Emporio Armani and Issey Miyaki.Moving to Toronto in the early 1990s, she immersed herself in the city’s vibrant retail scene, working for Storm of London and leading the opening of their North American flagship store. Regina’s entrepreneurial spirit took flight a few years later with Propaganda, a Yonge Street boutique that quickly became a neighborhood favorite for its unique clothing, accessories, and gifts.From 2010 to 2024, Regina was the force behind Labour of Love, a diverse concept store; event space and beloved Cabbagetown community hub for art exhibitions, pop-ups, book signings, cooking demos, and workshops.
