June 15, 2019 at Black Cat – Artspace, Toronto, Ontario
We had the pleasure of meeting Carla Rojas, founder of Artifier, on a balmy Monday morning at Dark Horse in the beautiful arts building, 401 Richmond in Toronto. Having discovered one another through the web (Google? Instagram? Who knows?), it was such a delight to meet another female founder in the tech/art space in Toronto. We connected right away over our shared passion to make art more accessible. Carla’s vision is simple – with all of the art events and art spaces in the city, how can she present all of this activity in a beautiful way that makes sense? Artifier solves this, and does it in style. Launching on June 15th, you will soon be able to browse through a pool of current and upcoming exhibitions and events from over 30 galleries, museums, artist-run centres and independent project spaces in Toronto and the GTA, giving folks the tools to easily refine event searches by discipline, location, and date. Pretty cool, eh!? Art can be fun and we’re excited to see how this events directory can help more people discover what’s happening in the vibrant local art scene. To celebrate, they’re hosting an all-day pop-up event at The Black Cat – Artspace on Saturday, June 15th, followed by an evening reception and a special performance by Chelsey Bennett.
