Art Intelligence, our first in-person show in 4 years, truly became a community celebration as we welcomed over 500 visitors throughout its duration. The event, held at Gallery 1313 as part of DesignTO was a remarkable way to kick off 2024.
This collaborative effort resulted in a showcase featuring the work of over 25 emerging artists in the in-person exhibition, and an equally impressive digital exhibition that expanded on the concept of art and technology even further. Whether you had the opportunity to visit Gallery 1313 in person or experienced the event from afar, we invite you to relive the exhibition and explore the series of programming in this blog post.
Plus, check out the full exhibition here, including both our in-person exhibiting artists and the digital exhibition, for a comprehensive experience!
A special thank you to Phil and the Gallery 1313 team for their unwavering support throughout the show. Keep up with their exhibitions and events here.
Opening Reception
The opening reception was an absolute blast, with curated sounds by dishes (listen to the full playlist here) and delightful beverages from our wonderful sponsors; Grape Witches, Woodhouse Brewing Co., and Wilda.
In Conversation With Steven Sabados
Hosted by Partial’s co-founder, Tammy Yiu Coyne, we held an intimate conversation with designer, personality, and artist, Steven Sabados. The exclusive chat delved into Steven’s personal and career journey – from his television successes with Designer Guys and Steven and Chris, to his current projects with STEVEN SABADOS STUDIO. It was an insightful look into Steven’s dual role as both a fine artist and a commercial artist, with his unique perspective on how art intertwines with successes, celebrations, grief, and new beginnings.

Soundbath Meditation
Participants enjoyed a rejuvenating soundbath meditation and movement practice at the gallery surrounded by art, led by Parkdale’s own Renelyn Quinicot. The practice centered around taking a break from our busy lives, providing an opportunity to focus on being present and fostering a sense of mindfulness.
About Renelyn
Renelyn Quinicot (she/her) is a queer filipina artist and movement & meditation teacher born and based out of Tkaronto. Her offerings include Kundalini Yoga, Pilates, Aerobic Exercise, Yoga Nidrā, Sound Meditation and more. She is passionate about curating spaces for connection and storytelling, where art, music and wellness can intersect. In all her work, she explores the body as a keeper of story and lineage, PLAY as a radical act of resistance, and is most of all, passionate about sharing supportive breathing tools to remind us of our own body as a wise resource of care.
Panel: Tech & The Near Future of Art in Canada
In this friendly discussion panel, technology and art experts gathered to explore the exciting frontier where art and artificial intelligence (AI) collided. Featured speakers included Partial co-founder Dr. Chris Kim, Carla Rojas, Michael Le, and Aleksandra Kmieciak. The discussion revolved around how AI started to play a significant role in the art world, transforming how we create, curate, perceive, and buy art.
The panelists delved into the ways AI was used as a creative companion — generating unique artworks and challenging traditional norms — and pondered questions of ethics, considering the impact on artistic expression, ownership, and the evolving role of human artists in this technologically-infused era.

In this artist panel, we had a captivating dialogue with two featured artists from the exhibition, Jenny Zhang and Omar Zayed, led by Director of Growth from Imprimo, Aiden Stevenson.
Gallery Tours
During the duration of Art Intelligence, we hosted two engaging gallery tours, each expertly led by Partial’s co-founders, Tammy Yiu Coyne and Chris Kim. This was a unique opportunity for attendees to delve deeper into the exhibition. Beyond the curation, these tours provided an in-depth look into the individual artworks, enriching the audience’s understanding and appreciation of the artistic process.
